The technology used in the Omron MIT Elite (HEM-7300-WE7), to measure blood pressure, has passed in two validation studies, in pregnancy populations, according to recognised standard protocols, as published in peer-reviewed publications.

It is recommended by the BIHS, for pregnancy except in those with large arm circumferrences, on the basis of published evidence. Though it is also recommended for self-measurement, the paper cited references a different device.
