Medaval advises a note of warning to consumers considering buying a Blood Pressure Monitor or Blood Glucose Meter?
From the pie chart above it can be seen that circa 88% of all Blood Pressure Monitors sold in the market today are not clinically validated for accuracy and that the same percentage for Blood Glucose Meters is 83%. This is a damming statement of an industry that allows a medical device to be sold to the public without having to scientifically prove it is displaying accurate measurements.
A change from the above statement is happening in May 2020 in the EU member countries, but not in the US, or Canada and elsewhere.
Until this happens, the chance that you currently are using an inaccurate device, is very high.
